Krrrazy Kelly's 3 Mile Run  - in the snow (19th Jan 2013)

Started off running on the roads as the pavements were a tad icey...

.....snow was slushy here......

 

Station road was pretty slippy too......

 

 

Then joined the cycle track....

The snow was good to run on along the track as it wasn't too compacted .....

 

 

Soon turned into an assault course as trees had fallen across the track......

 

 

The trees were laden heavily with snow and looked really pretty!

 

 

The first lake along the track....ducks wanted bread,
 but unfortunately I didn't have any!!
 

 

The track continues to another lake......

  

 

The water looked icey cold!

 

 

 

The track looked more and more like Narnia as I continued!!

 

 

Slight incline.............

 

 

Followed by slight decline past another three lakes .........

 

 

Third lake - frozen........

 

 

Fourth lake - frozen.....

 

 

 

  

The snow's getting deeper now...........

 

 

A frozen stream.......

 

 

 The track is getting more difficult to run on as snow deepens......

 

 

Lake number five - the biggest!

 

 

Frozen solid!

 

 

Brrrrr!

 

 

Walkway across the lake.......

 

A spectacular willow tunnel!

 

 

 

 

Enroute back to fourth lake......

 

 

 Third lake, on way back.......

 

 

Snow is super deep by the lakes edge!!

 

 

Long slow drag back..... 

 

 

Decided to run around lakes one and two......

 

 

 

Ducks were still after bread!!

 

 

Pretty sitting place.....

 

 

Back through Narnia!

 

 

View up towards the cliffs alongside the track.....

 

 

The only other nutter out @ this time of morning!!

 

 

The train track which runs parrallel - can't imagine any trains using THAT today!

 

 

Just leaving cycle track. That tree is gigantic!!

 

 

Back down a frozen Station Road......

 

 

Nearly home.......
